Met Gala 2014...Some of my favorites!!!!

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Stella McCartney was by far my favorite designer of the night!!! All the looks worn by Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, and Stella McCartney were equally impeccable. The tailoring and styles fit both their bodies and personality. Anna Wintour must have been a bit perturbed that they did not obey by her dress code, but how can you be upset with looks like theirs!

Best looking couples of the night!!!

Beyonce and Jay-Z both looking ravishing in Givenchy

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian both wore Lanvin and Kim
was adorned with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone
Emma is wearing a Thakoon dress, Miu Miu shoes, Tod‘s clutch, and Graziela Gems and EF Collection jewelry. Andrew is wearing a Band of Outsiders blazer and tux trouser.

David and Victoria Beckham wearing her own design.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively both perfectly dressed in Gucci.

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron
Charlize is wearing Dior with Fred Leighton jewels.

Hope you enjoyed just some of the amazing looks of the night!!!

Stay Fabulous,

Understaning the Met Gala before the big day!!!!

Monday, May 5, 2014

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala is one of thee biggest events for the fashion industry. The Costume Institute annual fundraising Gala has been held at the Met since 1971 and is considered to be the fashion industry's premier annual red carpet event.

Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and chair of the event since 1995, oversees both the benefit committee and the guest list, with Vogue staffers helping assemble the list of invitees.  Each year the event has a theme (with dress code), and includes a cocktail hour and a formal dinner. It also serves as an opening celebration for the institute's annual fashion exhibit.

This year the fashion world joins in celebration of Charles James, the American couturier whose work will be on display as part of the retrospective exhibit, Charles James: Beyond Fashion, at the newly renovated Anna Wintour Costume Center.

In preparation of tonight’s event, I though it appropriate to take a look back at, what I thought were some of the best looks. Here are just some of them.

Anna Wintour, Cara Delevingne, Karolina Kurkova

Rooney Mara, Lana Del Rey, Miranda Kerr

Jessica Beil, Jessica Stam, Sienna Miller

Make sure to come back and check out all the best and worst looks from this year's Met Gala!!!

Stay Fabulous,

Latest news on Dolce and Gabbana

Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have each been sentenced to 18-month jail terms for tax evasion charges. Italy's appeals court upheld a verdict issued last June against the pair on charges of using Luxembourg holding company Gado to avoid paying taxes on royalties of about 1billion euros. The case stems from an investigation that began in 2008 when Italian tax authorities stepped up their fight against tax evasion as a global financial crisis began to bite.

Fashion companies have fallen under the scrutiny of Italy's tax authorities partly due to the fact the sector has performed well during the country's longest recession since World War Two.  The cases rarely come to court, however.  Giorgio Armani paid 270 million euros to tax authorities in early April to settle a dispute over payments from the group's subsidiaries abroad.  Prada Holding, which controls Prada, paid a reported 400-420 million euros to settle taxes in Italy after completing a process of voluntary disclosure in December.

Coachella Fashions!!!

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Music is the first thing that comes to mind when referring to Coachella. The only problem is that Coachella is no longer JUST about the music. It has become thee place to be and be seen, for both, the fashion and entertainment world. And it is no longer restricted to the festival grounds. The VIP private parties that span from Palm Springs to Indian Wells have become an extension of the festival. These parties cater to an impressive guest list all of which are decked out in fabulous clothes!

I just got back from week 1 of Coachella, and I assure you that everything you hear about this festival is just a taste of how amazing this place is!!!! Now I understand why the trends of the summer have become synonymous with Coachella.  Below I have compiled a list of just a few must have looks that everyone was wearing at the festival and at the parties!

Floral Prints
Go for a modern boho look with flowing floral prints with things like long dresses, kimono
wraps or shirts.
 Anything Fringe
Anything fringe works!

Hats
Whether the hat is floppy or structured, light or dark, anything works! They are both supper stylish and practical.

Denim Cutoff Shorts
Denim cut off shorts can be worn with anything!!! But make sure they are not too short, if your butt cheek shows, get another pair. I also hate to be the bearer of bad news, but not everyone can wear this trend!!!

Hair
Braids, headpieces and scarves. Effortlessly chic!!! It might have taken you forever to style your hair, but it shouldn't look like it. Your hair should not look perfect! It should "look" like you were in saltwater and never washed your hair, hence the term "beach hair" or in this case "desert hair". Feel free to add the embellishments!!!

Sunglasses
Sunglasses are key in a desert with the blaring sun beating on you! Circular and cat-eye frames are two of the most popular styles that were worn. Remember, anything goes!! Be daring!

 Arm Candy
Layering is key...the more you wear the better it looks. But this isn't restricted to just bracelets; same goes for rings! It's not limited to just one finger. You should stack them and wear mid rings they are key to completing the look!

Stay fabulous,

MEET JENNIFER FISHER

Thursday, April 3, 2014

A Santa Barbara, California native, Jennifer Fisher began her career as a wardrobe stylist working on feature films, television shows and commercials in both New York and Los Angeles. After ten years of dressing and styling in Hollywood, Jennifer met her now-husband, and they settled in New York City, where Jennifer’s company is now based.

The designer specializes in custom designs; each piece can be personalized by shape, font, size, and metal color including either 14K or 18K yellow, rose, and white gold. She also offers pave white and black diamonds to embellish the jewelry, making for a more luxe alternative.
In 2011, Jennifer continued to expand her line with the launch of her brass collection. From large cuffs, statement chain necklaces and earrings to stackable rings and bracelets, the brass collection has garnered a significant following, allowing her to offer her signature jewelry to a growing customer base at an increasingly accessible price point.

These are just a few pieces from her latest fall 2014 RTW collection, which I am obsessed with. I feel like these pieces would look even better layered and incorporated with almost anything. They are totally versatile, which is always a major plus when purchasing any type of jewelry!!
